FRANKLIN SCHOOL ANNOUNCED WINNER OF NATIONWIDE RECYCLING PROMOTION
TerraCycle® and Entenmann’s® Little Bites® Award School Classroom Party
LEDGEWOOD, N.J., April 21, 2017 – Franklin School of Ledgewood won the makings of a fun-filled classroom party through this year’s Entenmann's® Little Bites®: Make the Pledge Promotion, in partnership with recycling pioneer TerraCycle®. As the winner, they will receive a party kit containing Entenmann’s Little Bites products and reusable Entenmann’s Little Bites water bottles to reward their recycling efforts.
During the contest window, which ended March 31, the school pledged to help the environment by reducing waste and was the one (1) school randomly selected as the sweepstakes winner of the promotion.
“We created a recycling station with a bin dedicated to Little Bites packaging in the lunch room, and a station in the hallway where kids can drop off their collections every day when they enter the school,” said Franklin School PTA's Gabriella Pereira. “Children need to see, hear and feel to learn and remember things. If we can make recycling fun, it eventually becomes habit.”
The Entenmann's Little Bites: Make the Pledge Promotion launched January 15 nationwide to schools, businesses and individuals participating in the Entenmann’s Little Bites Recycling Program, a free recycling program operated by Entenmann's Little Bites and TerraCycle. Collectors made the pledge to reduce their waste; those who sent in a 5lb. shipment of pouches were automatically awarded 100 bonus TerraCycle points redeemable for a cash donation to the non-profit or charity of the collector’s choice; a second five lb. shipment of pouches earned pledgees three exclusive, $5 coupons and three plush Entenmann's Little Bites dogs.
“The sustainability of our future and environment is so important for the children of generations to come,” said Kim Bremer, Director of Marketing for Entenmann’s Little Bites. “Entenmann’s Little Bites feels honored and proud to stand next to TerraCycle in such an important global issue.”
The Entenmann’s Little Bites Recycling Program recently hit a nationwide milestone of 2.5 million pouches diverted from landfill and nearly $40,000 donated to schools and charities. The program is open to any individual, school or organization interested in reducing local landfill waste.
